"Elisabeth Anker - “Everyone at our peaceful march just stopped to give you the finger, Marge.”"
Columbia University, established in 1754, is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the United States. Located in New York City, it has a distinguished reputation for academic excellence, research, and influential alumni, including U.S. presidents, Nobel laureates, and global leaders. However, in recent years, Columbia has become a battleground for escalating antisemitism, radical activism, and pro-Hamas demonstrations that have created a hostile environment for Jewish students.
Columbia’s Pro-Palestinian Movement & Campus Unrest
The university has witnessed a disturbing increase in pro-Hamas demonstrations, often crossing into outright antisemitism. The following are some of the most shocking incidents of campus extremism:
Notable Pro-Palestinian Protests and Incidents

On April 30, 2024, pro-Palestinian protesters occupied Hamilton Hall, renaming it “Hind’s Hall” after a Palestinian child.

Pro-Palestinian Groups & Faculty Support
Several radical pro-Palestinian groups have been at the forefront of these events, often receiving support from faculty members.
Student Groups Leading the Charge

As of Today
Columbia University, once known for its academic rigor and intellectual diversity, has become a hotbed of radicalism, antisemitism, and anti-Israel extremism. Jewish students face growing hostility, while faculty members and administrators enable a dangerous culture of hate. The need for accountability, stronger campus policies, and a crackdown on extremist groups is more urgent than ever.
