Sabreena Ghaffar-Siddiqui

Sabreena Ghaffar-Siddiqui is a Canadian academic and activist who has openly supported Hamas terrorism, denied documented war crimes, spread anti-Semitic rhetoric, and promoted hatred of Israel and Zionists. She has used her platform to justify violence against Jews and delegitimize Israel’s existence.

Sabreena’s Support for Hamas

  • On October 7, 2023, the day of Hamas’s massacre of over 1,200 Israeli Jews, Ghaffar-Siddiqui posted on Instagram that resistance fighters should not be called terrorists, writing: “History has never called revolutionaries and resistance fighters terrorists… This IS decolonization!”
  • She doubled down, posting: “Believing that what you’re seeing is terrorism and not resistance” is a sign of “internalized colonialism.”
  • On October 22, 2023, she stated: “Every time you condemn Hamas, you are colonized.” She refused to condemn Hamas, saying: “I will not condemn Hamas until they condemn state-sponsored terrorism of Israel.”
  • At the same event, the crowd chanted “Viva, viva, intifada!”, a term linked to violent uprisings that have included bombings, stabbings, and shootings against Jews.

Denial of Hamas War Crimes

  • On October 12, 2023, she falsely claimed that reports of Hamas’s atrocities—including the mass rape and beheading of Israeli civilians—were “now confirmed to be fake news.”
  • She dismissed graphic evidence of Hamas’s crimes, calling it “propaganda.”
  • She also signed a letter to Canadian lawmakers dismissing reports of Hamas sexual violence as “unverified accusations.”

Spreading Anti-Semitism

  • On December 9, 2023, she declared that “Israel is a white settler colonial state” and falsely claimed its Jewish inhabitants “are mainly of European descent” and “believe themselves to be superior.”
  • She smeared Zionism as “a white supremacist political ideology.”
  • On November 5, 2023, she tweeted: “Zionism = Nazism.” The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) defines such comparisons as anti-Semitic.

Hatred of Israel and Zionists

  • She has stated: “There are NO progressive Zionists. Being a Zionist = being an illegal settler on stolen land.”
  • She has described “soft Zionists” as “wolves in sheep’s clothing” and a “bigger hurdle in the path of justice.”
  • She falsely claimed that only “25 percent of people in Israel are Jewish” when the actual figure is over 73%.

Institutional Influence

  • As of May 2024, Ghaffar-Siddiqui’s LinkedIn listed her as a professor at Sheridan College, where she has been teaching since 2020.
  • She was previously a Senior Advisor on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at Sheridan.
  • She has held roles at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) and has worked as a self-described DEI consultant since 2015.

Sabreena Ghaffar-Siddiqui has leveraged her academic and activist roles to spread pro-terrorist propaganda, whitewash Hamas’s atrocities, and promote extremist, anti-Semitic narratives. Her influence in educational and interfaith circles has been used to spread hate and justify violence against Jews and Israel.
